The Michael J. Casey Scholarship: $1,000-$2,000 (in-state or out-of-state, MS or MEng)
The Michael J. Casey Endowed Scholarship was established to honor the life and contributions of Dr. Michael J. Casey, a former CEIE professor. During Dr. Casey’s eight years at George Mason University, in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering, he made a significant impact on the program curriculum, the graduate program in construction, our process for recruiting and advancing graduate students, our faculty colleagues and especially on the hundreds of students who took his courses. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance for graduate students pursuing a degree in civil and infrastructure engineering with a focus in construction and is based on academic merit.
The Balfour Beatty Distinguished Graduate Fellowship: $10,000 (in-state or out-of-state, PhD)
This award, made possible by a gift from Balfour Beatty, an international construction and infrastructure services business, recognizes the department’s high confidence in a new student’s academic and research potential.
