Sean Lindenmuth has been named the 2012-1013 Volgenau School of Engineering Student of the Year. Sean is a senior student of civil, environmental and infrastructure engineering and during his tenure in CEIE has received a number of awards and academic distinctions for his outstanding academic achievement. Sean has also distinguished himself with a research award from the GMU Undergraduate Scholars Program to pursue research in bio-mediated soil and ash stabilization technology.
Sean is a Peer Advisor, President of the GMU Chapter of Chi Epsilon, President of the GMU Chapter of the Society of Military Engineers (SAME) an active member in the GMU chapter of ASCE and serves as a Teaching Assistant in the Department fo Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering. He plans to pursue graduate studies in civil engineering with a concentration in geotechnical engineering.
Sean will receive his award and be honored at the Volgenau School of Engineering Spring Awards Gala on May 4, 2013 at the McLean Hilton.
And more …. Sean has received a national award, the Olin K. Dart, Jr. National Chi Epsilon Scholarship, in the amount of $3500 recognizing him for his outstanding academic achievement and significant involvement in extracurricular activities, particularly in Chi Epsilon.
