Lauren Alger and Lindsey Kellar were honored to be chosen to attend the annual Naval Academy Science and Engineering Conference (NASEC), held in Annapolis, MD. Students from across the country participated, as well as the midshipmen from the academy who led and participated in the conference. This year’s themes revolved around Climate and Technology, Ecology and the Environment, and Energy in Developing Countries. Alger and Kellar along with other engineering students were able to discuss various theme-related problems while creating innovative solutions alongside various midshipmen. Lindsey Kellar was also given the opportunity to display her research within the Science and Engineering poster session, which explored the effects of future land-cover change scenarios on storm surge and coastal flooding in the Chesapeake bay region.
