JQ Yuan Joins CEIE Adjunct Teaching Faculty to Teach Prestressed Concrete

Dr. Jiqiu Yuan is a researcher at PSI, Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, Federal Highway Administration, McLean, VA.  His current research includes developing innovative connections for prestressed box beam bridges and evaluating bond performance between Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) and deformed steel rebars.  Prior to that, he conducted research at the University of Kansas on Construction of Low-Cracking High-Performance Concrete Bridge Decks, which is sponsored by Federal Highway Administration and 19 state transportation departments.  He is a voting member of American Concrete Institute (ACI) Committee 228-0B, Visual Inspection and associate members of ACI Committees 239, Ultra-High Performance Concrete and 408, Development and Splicing of Deformed Bars-Joint ACI-ASCE.  Dr. Yuan brings his extensive experience in both reinforced concrete structures and concrete materials into the classroom at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
