Anna Wolgast is a judge for the Environmental Appeals Board of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In that position she reviews EPA and state’s permit decisions and appeals from administrative law judges enforcing environmental violations and imposing civil penalties. Ms Wolgast’s extensive environmental law career includes previous positions at the U.S. Department of Justice as Deputy Chief of the Environmental Defense Section; and at the U.S. Department of Labor as an appellate attorney in the Mine Safety and Health Division. Ms. Wolgast’s practical experience allows her to teach students not only the laws themselves as they relate to environmental engineering practice, but also to provide important insights into how the laws are applied. She has taught in CEIE since 2011.
