Dr. Firas Sheikh Ibrahim is the leader of the Infrastructure Management Team in the Office of Infrastructure Research and Development, Federal Highway Administration, in McLean, VA. His interests include the analysis, design, construction, inspection, evaluation, load rating, and management of major, complex, and signature bridges and infrastructure. Dr. Sheikh Ibrahim has been recognized with distinguished awards for his research and practice contributions, in particular for his leadership in the implementation of the LRFD and LRFR bridge design and rating specifications across the country. Dr. Sheikh Ibrahim brings his extensive experience in bridge engineering and infrastructure management into his bridge and structural design and evaluation classes at the graduate level.
