Mr.Jag R.Bhargava, PE,PMP,CCM,DBIA
Adjunct Professor, Construction Management
Jag Bhargava is an Adjunct Professor in the Civil, Environmental, Infrastructure Engineering Department in the area of Construction Systems. He completed his Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Mysore University and Master of Science in Structural Engineering, from Bangalore University, India. He completed his second M.S. in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, North Carolina. Prior to coming over to America,Mr.Bargava was a lecturer and taught Theory of Structures, for or a year at MSR College of Engineering, Bangalore, India. During his graduate study at North Carolina State University, he was a Teaching Assistant in the Civil engineering Department.
Mr. Bhargava, currently works full time for U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) as the Deputy Director for design and construction division and has 29-years experience with GSA Project manager,Project Excuetive and Development Director as a, providing broad program management and executive leadership for major capital construction projects, leasing, facilities management, in the National Capital Region. Extensive liaison with GSA executive management, Office of Management and Budget, Federal agencies, construction management firms, design-build contractors, construction contractors, architectural firms, members of the US Congress, State and Local Government, and local community organizations. Provided critical leadership to ensure Design and Construction projects are successfully planned, developed, funded, launched and executed on time and within budget. Mr Bhargava, has completed Numerous (35+) courses in Executive Development, Management, Contract Law, Procurement and Contract Administration throughout his Federal career.Post Graduate studies in Business and Engineering Administration at University of Maryland and George washington University
He has published two papers:
“Static and Fatigue Strengths of Beams Containing Prestressed Concrete Tension Elements,”
(co- authored with Dr. Paul Zia, and Dr. Mirza); paper presented at the 50th Highway Research Board, Washington, D.C. Published in Highway Research Record, Vol. 354,1971.
“Theoretical and Experimental Analyses of Long Cylindrical Shell”
(co-authored with Mr. Rajanna and Dr.Dwarkaprasad). presented at the 12th International Congress on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, India. Published in the 12th Congress on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Record, 1967.
