Michael J. Krimmer

Michael Krimmer is Assistant Professor and Program Head for Geospatial Studies at Northern Virginia Community College.   He brings 25 years of military experience as an aircraft navigator, managing acquisition programs, and in research development to the geospatial field.  Since August 2006, he has directed the GIS program at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), developing and implementing courses and NVCC ‘s GIS Career Studies Certificate.  On behalf of NVCC he has furthered GIS program development with industry, government, and non-profit GIS employers.    Dr. Krimmer has directed or participated in geospatial education grants from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.  He is a member of the URISA Professional Practice Standards Division and the US Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s Academic Advisory Board.
