Internships

“Having interns is a great benefit to our company. The students receive on-the-job training, and we have a chance to work with potential employees before they graduate from college. We look forward to having more student interns work with us in the future.”

— Dave Leber, Wagman Heavy Civil, project manager

Don't miss the chance to intern during your college career. Our civil, environmental, and infrastructure engineering students land prestigious internships with engineering companies, government agencies, and contractors.

More than 90 percent of our students complete at least one internship during their college career, but many have multiple opportunities to gain valuable, real-world skills.

To take advantage of these opportunities, apply early. Turn in your application in the fall for the following summer. Some of the many opportunities include:

Undergraduate Research Scholars Program (URSP)

This program is designed to give undergraduates an authentic research, creative, or scholarly experience under the guidance of a mentor.

Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP)

Students work one-on-one with faculty researchers at Mason and collaborating institutions and solve hypothesis driven questions with the latest technology.
